apShaper
apulSoft apShaper is an audio effect plugin to add harmonic distortion to audio signals. It combines a waveshaper with three filter bands and various modulation options - two LFOs, a dynamics detector, and user-configurable knobs.

apShaper can simulate multiple types of distortion, including tape and tube saturation, wave folding, and analog bit crushing.

The three filter bands offer high-quality filtering without high-frequency squeezing. The variable-slope low-pass filter type provides smooth slopes not possible with traditional filtering - ideal to gently shape signals with large amounts of distortion applied. Multiple tone control types modelled after classic circuits allow classic bass/mid/treble tone shaping.

The dry signal is now phase-synced in phase to the wet antialiased signal to improve dry/wet mixing.

Improved oversampling quality.

New linear phase oversampling mode.

Reworked max quality setting. It now uses 8x oversampling and is superior to higher quality in all cases.

New filter position option: before the dynamics module input.

Renamed 'ultra' antialiasing quality name to 'higher'.

I've recently become a fan of apulSoft software. Highly recommend the bundle for all their software.

Underrated developer...

It's replaced almost everything saturation-related in my workflow.

It may need multiple instances to create stages at times, but there's almost no limit to what it can do... it's a sandbox.

Sidechaining/dynamics, patching and anti-aliasing put it in a class of its own.

It’s a wonderful sounding, super flexible clipper too.

DAMN... using this more and more... so many use cases, love the EQ and the different sat /dist/clip options .

VERY versatile and great sounding plug-in, thats become a default insert on on my every channel inc the master . SUPRB!

I try use this as console preamp simulation as 1st plugin in chain. But most of the time it is just waveshaper because i lack deeper knowledge. If you dont mind can you share any tips or settings for more complex settings?

Bumping this because I now "get it", and really do feel like i don't need another saturation plug in, after buying tons of them, and even since I got Apshaper.

This saturation plug in is really one of the best available.

It's like a chameleon that can do it all. It can do anything from warmth to fuzz to harsh digital. It gives huge control over saturation curves, de/emphasis, compression, routing, and modulation.

It will replace a tube preamp, a tube compressor, a tape saturator, an exciter, a dynamic eq/distortion, and more, often simultaneously and without a crossover to ruin things.

Super flexible, modern, and very high quality.

Right now, Instead of getting the latest saturation plugin from acustica or whoever, I am happily using this, on tracks, busses, and master track and I seem to find a way for it to always make things better,whether subtle or dramatic, due to the huge flexibility and quality on offer here.

Most slept on (including by myself) saturator (and company) possibly in the history of GS imo.
