Trying it out at the moment : C-Link doesn't work properly with the VST3 version, when I press it the knobs are moving but the desired channel is not active. Need to activate it manually. Even when I disable the button set the knobs at the same position, it is the same. It is also extremely heavy on CPU.

I think I will try the AU version too to see if it happens there too.

Btw I am working on a Mac with Reaper. Normally I don't have any performance issues at all with Acustica Audio stuff.

According to manual this is correct so I suppose it's by design.

C-Link not work with AAX protools

we normally synchronize all controls with the control link. We have made choices for this particular product, dictated by its use.
In particular:

-the equalizer activation buttons are not synchronized in the stereo eq.
-some controls such as model selection are not synchronized in the compressor

This choice was made to take into account the use of these products in M/S mode, we preferred to keep some things independently.
So yes, it's true, the buttons on the eq for example must be activated manually, and so on...

Compared the AU with the VST3 but both are too heavy on CPU for me. Too bad, it has some nice sound but since I have quite a lot of EQs which are also amazing I will skip this version.

it's very nice indeed, after playing around with it for an hour i'm sold, it is a little heavier on the cpu compared to recent acquas though, no doubt they'll take a look at that. nice job acustica!

Sounds good but as some others have said, it's to CPU heavy for me.
It's recommended for Windows 10 but I had no problem with it on Windows 7.
Had I seen that rec I probably wouldn't have even tried it.
I would probably buy it if I knew for sure they would try and improve the CPU.

Echo bug is there on the EQ with a kick drum test. Raising a ticket later today.

As far as residual noise is concerned, Erin is special: impulsive response with all active bands and test equalization does not create a truncation. I still noticed a presence of noise in the preamp section, I asked the crew to limit it further. Personally I can live with this noise (and integrated can cause artifacts), but it makes sense to try to improve it further. Expect as usual some small improvement fixes in the next few hours and days, I remind you that products released with the presale formula are subject to small improvements and changes in the first few days.

The stereo equalizer on the other hand is quite complex, and we have introduced very precise gain control. This control has a rather marginal but present impact on the CPU. Consider turning off the meters if you have problems consuming resources. Otherwise, Erin consumes like our stereo equalizers, and they consume a lot, this is nothing new. In our tests, we were able to open for example 14 instances of Scarlet4 and 12 instances of Erin. Consider that Erin is a 5-band equalizer, not a 3-band one. As for the consumption of the stereo equalizer with the bands off, I asked to do a check. I honestly haven't detected anything abnormal, but we'll do an additional check to make sure there are no problems.

Been testing this on all sorts for the last few hours - Absolutely fantastic! Yes, its pretty intense on my Mac; however, its quality is just exceptional.

I had 10-15 minutes to play around with this and will be buying it.

I tested and did not notice echo bug on this one.
How did you test?
My test had a short kick with 40db limiting - this exposes echo bug usually really well. For an instance echo in gold 3081 eq is almost the same level as the initial transient.

I'm curious about the tech requirements. I'm on OS 10.12, while the requirements spec at 10.14

What are the draw-backs of using an older system like mine?

It should work, install the trial, the commercial version will work the same.

I used a UK Drill style kick which has a heavily clipped waveform. Boost the low shelf at 50Hz, mid cut at 500Hz and high boost at 5KHz (all around 2-3dB) and then I got the echo bug at a low but audible level.

The low boost on its own didn't cause the echo bug like normal but its seems the interaction of the low mid band somehow brought it out.

I got banned from the official FB group today for pointing this out. I've used Acustica products proffesionally for about ten years now and really don't appreciate being kicked out of a group which I've significantly contributed to with no warning, especially when I was told the problem didn't exist by the marketing guy and now the head of the company has just acknowledged it!

Also the AAX version seems more unstable than the VST version CPU wise. I'm trying it out using Patchwork and its behaving much better. TBF the AAX version was spiking liking crazy...

just a personal thought on this after using for some hours; i think it would make more sense from a workflow view to link all controls then tweak individually after, for instance, there seems no point in linking the compressor ratio/releases/thresholds etc unless the compressor models are linked as they react differently for each model, i have found myself constantly checking which settings are linked and which ones need manual adjustment, kind of defeats the idea imo. i am really enjoying the sound of erin though, another excellent release.
