Hey now, there's *plenty* of brown on that plugin!

Lots of brownish-black too!

But mostly, that 40Hz LMF produces a deep 'brown note'.

Awesome update Greg! Will the Kush plugins be moving to the iLok computer authorisation instead of dongle anytime soon? Or is this not possible?

Curious does this give us some insight into ths exact freq settings on the hardware?
Is it accurate?

The min and max freqs are dead-on. What's in-between can never be precisely 1:1 because the hardware uses physical pots, which have a manufacturing tolerance making no two exactly the same.

So 1 pot at 50% rotation might produce (e.g.) 50kohm resistance and another pot from the same batch might produce 47kohm at the same rotation.

That said, if you set the plugin to match the hardware it will generally be quite close, and sometimes it will be dead on.

Very surprised by this also but so far I've installed all the latest Kush updates in Windows 7 and not had a problem but will probably not purchase anything new from developers that don't support Windows 7. Not going to move away from Win7 anytime soon.

Just wanted to say I love that you continue to update old plugins and I hope that doesn't change. As tech gets better, modifying older ones means I can still stick with what I am used to while benefiting from upgrades.

Just installed and about to try.

The new manual says:

HIGH SHELVING
A custom-tuned, 6dB/octave high-shelf with
corner frequency ranging from 3.8k-20kHz.

Then says:

One of our favorite Electra tricks is to use a generous cut on the 12dB/octave High Shelf as a ‘controlled lowpass’ to reduce ultra-high frequency content and smooth out, aka ‘de- digitize’ the sound. A 6-9dB cut as high as 20k or as low as 13k, combined with a 3k, 4k, or 5k boost on the High Middle band, can add a more vintage presence to sounds while giving the top a softer, more old-school texture.

Sooo, is the High Shelf 6db/octave or 12db/octave ??

The slope is the same for boost and cut.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Yeah, I like giving the old toys a bit of spit-polish so they don't become fossilized.

We have more updates in the pipeline, although not all of them are free! But, like the Clariphonic DSP Mkii, they'll be reasonably priced and will add enough major new functionality and overall 'awesomeness' to make the upgrade a no-brainer.



First of all, I *love* that people are actually reading the manual, it's both surprising and gratifying. Thank you for that!

Second, that 12dB/oct spec is definitely a typo, the Electra's shelf is 6dB/oct.

Love the update! No presets here either though, have someone figured out how to get the presets working?

Hey all, I'm confused. There are no new presets in 1.5, but any pre-existing presets that you created under 1.0.x should have been imported into a new Bank called "1.0 Presets".

Is that not happening for some people?

I think people were hoping (myself included) that there would be presets with the new release since I don't believe there were any in the previous release.

Ok, message received: people want presets!

I'm still confused though: is 1.5 not importing people's presets correctly?

Everyone should have a '1.0 Presets' Bank loaded with any/all presets they created with earlier versions of Electra.

Can anyone confirm whether or not that's happening?
