Today I tested VariMoon on master bus.
I think this comp has awesome "reduction sounds".
It's very smooth and silky.

This is just my personal opinion, the input and the threshold allocation affect not only the amount of harmonic distortion but also the attack release timing.
When I felt the release was too slow, I raised the input and solved it.

To find sweet spot, I recommend that you use the threshold knob as a tone box and adjust the amount of gain reduction with input knob.

There are few people around me who know this good product.

It is a shame, but Analog Obsession had too many faults:

• They didn't listen to customer feedback
• Their plugins had too many bugs in them
• They were too expensive
• They demoted all their previous plugins to the "Legacy" series to make way for the new "Diamond" series, even though many of the bugs had never been fixed
• Then they were even more expensive

I believe that their intentions were good and they had the desire to develop great plugins. Some of them were great (I never bought any but still use some of the free ones) and some of them could have been amazing, but the little bugs just held them back (meters not working properly, gain-staging too difficult and so on).

There there was "Tunca's" posts on the Reaper forum asking how to code a compressor in the iPlug framework, and that was only about 18 months ago!

I don't know how much value the Analog Obsession brand carries, but I do hope he can sell the company for decent money and that other people can carry on where he left off.

Too bad. I also have two plugins of them that I always use.

Dude seemed to be pretending to be someone else, and denying that.

The linear/non-linear switch is something I've advocated for for some time... I hope others do that.

Anyway, I think there was Pultec, Neve and maybe Calrec EQs.

Looking at the AO site, all the Diamonds are $39 now (not that I would buy any or recommend others do).

In the last half hour AO has now announced that they are not selling the company and will be updating all legacy to Diamond Series.

This was after another company called QPFactory had announced (this thread was then deleted within a few hours at KVR) that they were releasing plugins.
The site, the blurb and the plugins all looked suspicously like AO.

I and others called them out, they denied any affiliation with AO.
So another user posted some webpage reg details that proved both AO and QEF were registered by the same person.

The dude needs to sort himself out if he wants to gain any trust.

Honestly, this guy is mentally ill and should see a doctor and I do not mean that in an offending way, I think it would really help him.

What's frustrating is that the plugins, if properly developed, had amazing potential. This is what makes it so frustrating to look at from the side-line (though I am a customer.. put something like 60 euros into his pocket, so a basic nice dinner out, so not too bad).

I still use FIVER v2 every once in a while. Unfortunately it seems to be bugged and adds weird digital sounding chirping/noise when the plugin receives very low levels (aka mic noise bleed). I haven't been able to track this bug down and seems to be random.

Really?? I use Fiver all the time, and actually it's my favourite eq along with E27 and +10db. I saw you rave about how good it was and i tried it and damn, very low cpu, suuper nice sound..

Could you elaborate more on the bug? I wanna keep using it as long as it can last..(since there will be no updates obviously)
