I used Flux's Free Stereo Tool to pan each track Pre Breeze insert. Great plug! I did not check, but I assume this is just a gain panner (when applied to mono sources).

I then used many copies of the same Breeze 2 preset "Russian Hall" from the 2.0 factory bank: one on each instrument directly as inserts, post the Flux Stereo Tool.

I made small adjustments to the preset for different instrument groups such as adjusting the Balance control to have a lower value for strings and pretty high value for things in the back of the orchestra such a Brass and Timpani and adjustment to Controls such as Contour and Shape. I may have used Alg Randomize a few times to get a different preset variation of the same idea for more diversity.

I removed the audio files though, bc I was requested not to redistribute the source PCM files. I guess you could plug in the MP3 files, or ask for the PCM files directly from these guys if you don't have them.

And as I said I only used one instrument track for each instrument, so Violin 1 section, is only one player here. I suppose the completely proper thing to do would be to have 16 Violin 1, 16 Violin 2, etc. Maybe I will try that experiment later if time allows. (Edit: I just read the part of the paper, and I see the 22 supplied tracks are 22 different mic positions of the same take, not 22 different takes, so I guess we don't really have sources to try to recreate a one-track-per-player scenario.)

Anyway, it was just a quick test for me to see how well I could create depth with Breeze 2, I am sure you guys could do much better than me!

Hi Andrew - a couple of questions:
Are you sure you mean to use the term "anechoic chamber"? And if so, how did the musicians not go crazy and what is this magical place that has a room large enough for such an endeavor.

And if recorded in an Anechoic Chamber, why are both recordings so noisy?

I hope this isn't coming across as critical, I'm just genuinely curious. Evaluating this plugin but I am more interested in smaller rooms and halls and your post is the first example I came across in respect to a more usable, rather than special effect, type of space.

Yes the parts were apparently recorded in an anechoic chamber by Jukka Pätynen and Tapio Lokki at the Academy of Finland and discussed in a journal article "Acta Acustica united with Acustica".

We were not involved with this. I just came across the discussion on the VI-Control forum and I asked for the parts, as I thought it was a really cool project and very valuable for reverb testing, particularly obviously for orchestral settings.

The cubase file I provided does not include the source files bc they are not my property, but the MP3s are in the link above, and if you email these guys they will give wav sources to you if you are interested. The paper is linked there too. Sounds like a really interesting project! I'm not sure why they are slightly noisy.

The other audio examples I posted were made by Simon who created the awesome Glacier Breeze expansion. This one does indeed focus a good deal on pretty huge/long creative FX ambient-music/thematic/cinematic presets, but it is really magical for this territory! Simon always does such cool and creative work! It's always an honor to work with him and have his input!

The Simply Better expansion, which i made myself, and the Spatial Creatives expansion created by Andrew Schlesinger are generally shorter and more conservative and the factory bank is likewise mostly conservative with some exceptions. I tried personally to force myself to be more conservative in Breeze 2 actually since our B2 product and also Aether can do the more extreme FX things quite well.

Since we just wrapped up the pre-release-beta phase a week or two ago, and I'm still finishing the manual we haven't quite had time yet to create a full set of demo sounds/songs yet, but I fully intend to collect and create one shortly with a whole bunch of various styles.

If anyone wants to contribute additional sounds of various materials and styles you are more than welcome. Send em our way! Or post on your own sound-cloud and I can add them to our playlist.

But as always it's best to just try the demo on your own music of course.

That took me by surprise considering the conditions. Has to be the source equipment and perhaps the self-noise is exaggerated due to the environment and necessary compensation in level in addition to the summing of the system noise when you add in a full orchestra of individually tracked instruments. Those examples certainly peaked my interest and invited further exploration into more typical use for myself.

Perfect Storm is simply a bundle of products of plus all associated preset expansions, with favorable pricing for the said bundle and potential discount rights to future products. In the new web store we call these bundles "Packs". When you order the new PS 3.0 Pack for example, the store just gives you all the products that make up the Pack, The products show up individually in /My Downloads/. Packs don't have SNs. Products do. The web store assigns one SN to each product that requires one. Legacy versions for each product are accessible as well.

It would waste your time and ours.

So we have people with PS 2.5 just purchase what is missing when going to 3.0, which is namely Breeze 2 plus the Breeze 2 expansions, and we adjust the price accordingly. If there is another free update to Breeze 2, you only have to re-download Breeze 2 and nothing else. This is efficient for you. If we update only preset expansion, you only have to download the new expansion.

New download files are displayed in RED in My Downloads. So it is easy to identify what is new. Maybe we will make this even more obvious.

Regarding future benefits, if you have everything that is in PS 3.0, you are considered as PS 3.0 customer, and will get whatever future benefits become available as being a PS customer. This is already true for PS 2.5 also, since most PS customers first had Aether, then later added Breeze, then later added B2 etc.

The old store handled this differently bc we did not have a centralized "My Downloads" section. In the old store we had to force people to make a new order every time there was a minor maintainence update, which was not popular and admittedly a bit of a PITA. So we rebuilt the process and vastly improved with with "My Download". Some old update orders from the old store may have transferred differently than how we handle it now as explained above, and this may be somewhat confusing. Once we have all products updated so that the current version of all products is certain to have been handled from the new store, then perhaps we will look into cleaning up older orders.

Basically in summary, the new method is superior, and best for new customers, but transitioning orders done from the old store to the new one could be slightly confusing for long time Perfect Storm customers, we understand, hence the explanation.

The Breeze slogan for v1 was "Simple. Light. Pristine.".

For v2 we say it's "More than twice as light, twice as pristine, simpler, prettier, and vastly more powerful. It's simply better."

It seems almost silly how simple this description is, but it's really all ya need to know.

Even though we added a ton of stuff behind the scenes and the Breeze 2.0 parameter space and range of sound is much more diverse than 1.0, we were very, very careful to remember Breeze's product identity, and first and foremost just make it even more of what it was already:

Simple. Light. Pristine.

and just make it:

Simply Better.

And this is basically what you just said also in different words, so thanks for noticing!

Check this out:

Solo flute performance with Breeze 2, with left positioning applied to the flute to demonstrate stage positioning and respect of input position within Breeze 2.

(I think I will combine wet/dry examples into one audio file from now on since it is easy to jump around in playback position in SC).

I finally got a chance to check this out and I'm really impressed. Having 12 algorithms is a big step up from Breeze 1.0. The quality of sound seems significantly better. Also, the small spaces are very good, so that's a big plus for me.

Developers' soundcloud reverb examples tend to focus on the more dramatic longer reverbs around solo instruments, but it can be hard to judge how a reverb will actually behave in a mix based on those. However, once I got the demo running in my mixes, the quality was very very good and it was easy to adjust the major parameters to get what I wanted. Breeze 2.0 can sit nicely in a complex mix without drawing attention to itself.

I do appreciate Andrew's orchestral example of Beethoven's 7th as I will be doing some pseudo orchestral stuff that requires that kind of space. If you're doing something that requires realistic sounding spaces, Breeze 2.0 is worth checking out.

Great to hear. Post an example of your mix if you are willing. We'd love to hear what you are working on.

My personal musical background is ambient, electronic, scoring, piano, contemporary classical and occasionally some dance/house/techno. Most of these styles use heavy amounts of reverb for at least some of the elements in the mix.

Of course Breeze is a rather universal product applicable to all styles, and as I made factory presets and presets for the "Simply Better" expansion I attempted to keep my creative tendencies in check. But you can't always teach an old dog new tricks, and most likely some creativity leaked into my presets anyway.

And Simon's are highly creative intentionally.

Andrew Schlesinger's are middle ground. It was really cool to have his perspective given the huge list of classic hardware he has worked with.

And of course Den's original V1 expansion has a ton a conservative-use material as well, and we hope to have him update it to use all the new V2 features.

Anyway if you've got a great full mix pop/rock example, it'd be really cool to hear.

Heads up to users: since the manual isn't yet available you may be wondering how to adjust the EQ. You just have to click on the words "FREQ DISPLAY" to see an expanded EQ page that allows you to select various parameters. It took me a while to figure it out

Hi all,

I finally got round to using Breeze 2. It sounds great!

Just one issue (and maybe others can check if they have the same problem or not): If I open the expanded Time Display, the reverb algorithm selector button (the downwards pointing triangle) does not work. I can cycle through the algorithms by clicking on the algorithm names but the arrow does not open the algorithm list.

The same button works fine in normal mode, you get the algorithm list, but not in expanded mode. Also the Frequency selector buttons work fine in the expanded Frequency Display mode so it is just the Reverb Algorithm list button that doesn't seem to work.

Anyone else seeing this?

Breeze 2 is really impressive on classic instruments, and sounds natural like real space.

Are there any pending updates/bug fixes for this bad boy? I often have problems changing parameter values. Sometimes the mouse wheel is active/availiable to change values, but that is no good for some parameters. I am on the latest-version-of-everything-ProTools-ultimate-osx

2cAudio says that Breeze and B2 need to use Rosetta to work in Ventura. I am not willing to use Rosetta. Can anyone one confirm this? Also will the VST2 plugs retain their presets and settings from older Ableton Live sets? Thanks for any word!

This is a company that does not answer its customers even after multiple attempts to contact them In addition to that they do not update their plugins they are stuck on the vst2 version Honestly, it is unbelievable and I do not know any other companies like this in the field

This is Denis, the co-founder of 2CAudio and inventor of Aether of Breeze 1.x.

It's really hard for me to see what my former business partner has done to the company I've invested 15 years of my life into and how he treated thousands of customers.

Over past 3 years I've been working on my new plug-in engine and a new reverb called Reverside. All 2CAudio customers are eligible for a free license and could try a preview version. This reverb is a way more sophisticated and capable, apart from super-clean natural reverbs it can do unique spatial effects and even some form of sound positioning in a virtual room.

Unlike old 2C plug-ins Reverside runs natively on ARM Mac systems, DSP is not optimized at the moment though once done it will use ARM CPU's vector instructions at full.

All those who followed me on kvr have had access to beta versions for over a year now.
