While I can't compare with UAD, I still have one good algorithmic SSL EQ in the pocket to manage CPU concerns.

do we have the same uad plugin ?

The eq B(88rs) in lime sounds much better than the uad 88rs mk2 to me

the uad 88rs mk2 sounds a lot closer to eq A in Lime to my ears
which is the VR and the one i prefer the least personally

Were discussing the SSL (Sand) not 88R (Lime), I like Lime and own it just the instance count is too low for me so i end up using the UAD 88RS more for that reason.

And we have done side by side tests with other Gearslutterz (they know who they are), and we all concluded that Sand is indeed no better than the New UAD SSL4000 E, but with the UAD I dont get any CPU hit at all.

Yea I love Lime, but open up 3 or 4 and i get beachballs everywhere.

To each their own... Sand, Lime, Purple, Pink Comp, Nebula - Massive Passive, 1073, API EQs etc. sounding better than their UAD MKII equivalent plugins over here. I went from maxing my three quad cards to hardly ever using UAD. From one limitation (outdated DSP cards) to another (heavy CPU Acqua/Nebula).

we have the opposite problem, i can run much lover ua mk2 ssl instance counts on my 7 uad-2 sharks than i can run Sand`s on my computer

the new UAd SSL4000 E mk2 channel strip is very good
it sounded good beside Sand to me too and i could have easily used it

but i cant justify the $299 price tag and then having the plugin eat up all my 7 sharks with only 7 stereo or 14 mono instances
when i can run 40 strips of Sand everything engaged,
running 40 G comps is unnecessary though LOL but testing is testing

if i just run just the Sand eq standalone version
i have a insane instance count on my system vs uad

we didnt get the channel dynamics in Sand
but the G comp adds a lot of value to this plugin
and at 100 eur i got sand for with my loyalty discount
is a bargain compared to uad`s offerings IMHO

im hoping for continuous eq`s in Sand in a future update though
and i believe core 10(corex) can bring back continuous eq`s again like we had in core 7
so i rather stick with Sand as im very happy about the sound
and i dont think i will see a great discount on the uad ssl
before Sand get continuous eq`s

taking the low instance counts i have with ua ssl out of the picture
sound vice UAD did a really great job on the ssl mk2 channel strip

I owned the previous UAD SSL so I only paid 99 bucks for the update, I have 18 UAD2 cores so I can run as many SSL- Neve 88 as I want to.

BTW Lime compressor C is great brings out the mids widens things an glues stuff together. This one of the best Software comps bar none, shame I have a original Hardware SSL G buss compressor from the 4000E console.

But if I didn't have the real deal Lime C would live on my 2 buss

Just not to confuse people reading, you are aware Lime Comp C is not based on an SSL G buss compressor, right ? I think I never heard someone saying "shame" for having an SSL G bus comp !

lime comp C, Sand G comp, and Coral comp are all great ITB comps

Every ITB compressor gets compared to my hardware G series comp, and Lime C
while not a direct emulation would be the one I would use and actually do use as an alternative to hardware.

The Sand G Comp very similar to the new UAD G Comp MK2 and doesn't have the widening effect of the real deal, also the real G comp shimmers on the top end like fairy dust is not present on either Acustica Sand or UAD new G Buss comp.

I do like UAD's 2500 though that does add similar goodness to the hardware.

If you don't have a hardware comp, then Lime C is a must have.
