Weird. I've seen midi learn work well with the rotary pots. Odd.

I am referring strictly to the main rotary encoder. No luck with it.

If you mean the main monitor control pot on the Nucleus (as in the big one in the middle that goes to 11) then that's an analogue pot. No digital control from that one I'm afraid, only from the V-Pots.

If you mean the Sigma's main encoder being controlled from one of the V-Pots then that is not expected behaviour. You should be able to learn switches to toggle the mode of the encoder to Mix A, Mix B, H/P etc and then have a V-Pot to control it.

Sure I was referring to Sigma's main encoder eh eh.
I was able to to toggle the mode of the encoder to Mix A B etc...but let me check again perhaps I gave up to soon - need to double check this thing.

Once I get this thing sorted out I'm still wondering: how I am supposed to control the main volume without switching back and forth from Delta layer to CC layer on the Nucleus? am I missing something here again? thanks.

Correct. At this time it is not possible to control the Master section by delta.
As for the future....?

Jim, i am stuck...can you please help me understand how I can learn a v-pot to control the main rotary encoder of Sigma?
I can successfully toggle the various modes of the encoder but no luck with controlling the rotary pot itself.

here's what I normally do:

- set Nuclues to CC
- activate the "learn" mode on Sigma app
- select the function I wish to control
- touch the control I wish to use on Nucleus
- done

this works successfully with every control except the rotary pot /encoder.
Once "Learn mode" is activated where am I suppose to click on to ??
Any suggestion??

I am very late to the party here, but I just wanted to report that my Nucleus is working perfectly, and is a special piece of gear, specifically as a centerpiece to my ProTools 12 - SSL Sigma Rig. The Nucleus has 3 Daw sections. My setup works seamlessly, laid out this way:
Daw 1 of Nucleus controls all ProTools functions & individual channels.
Daw 2 of Nucleus controls the rotary knobs & buttons of the Sigma. This gives me volume, mute, and speaker selection directly from the Nucleus.
Daw 3 of Nucleus controls the SSL 16 channel Sigma plugin, inserted on any ProTools channel, which gives me an automated, motorized 'flying' board, controlling all 16 channels of the Sigma. This is truly the magic of the setup. It acts like a 32 input SSL board, within a very small footprint.

If and when SSL decides to make an expandable option for this setup, I will be first in line. I'm hoping for the option to add a 2nd Sigma, along with expandable 8-channel sidecars for my Nucleus....

I'd love to pick your brain for your setup configuration, Mac or Pc, OS, network settings etc. Did you ever experience the audio dropouts (with sigma v2) and do you have any internet routers integrated into your switch/network handling the SSL stuff? Congrats on the setup!

Was thinking between S3 and Nuc2. Just ordered a black nuc2 today. Replacing my artist mixes and transport, will not use any of the audio as i have a Sigma and fusion as well. Using Cubase 10.5 very curious.

Does or doesn’t it now autobank? (selecct channel in daw and this becomes your most left channel? And does or doesn’t spil it VCA’s? Those are the only 2 questions for me, for the rest it seems to nearly cover all the mapping that Eucon offers.

Just received my Nuc2 and getting it setup in Cubase. One question though, all channel types display on the controller, except OUTPUTS? No matter what i do, I can’t get them to line up on the Nuc2? Any suggestions?

Nope, cubase outputs don’t appear on Nuc (it’s a MCU protocol thing)

Been eyeing a Nucleus as a Sigma owner for years. I've read the other Nucleus thread front to back and still feel confused as to which is a better direction:

Used Nucleus 1 OR Used Nucleus 2

From what I gathered interface is useless on both but USB works better on V1(I surmise). Software can be problematic on V2(albeit newer and usually in better condition)

Do any owners have any advice as to a clear winner between the two?

(Came to this crossroads before and bought a Faderport 16 that I'll keep. Still would like something fully standalone/DAWless with the Sigma possibly ... )

I recently got a Nucleus 2.
The audio interface part of it is not useless. It's a Dante interface and works well with the Dante Virtual Soundcard.
I haven't tested the monitor output yet but the headphone amp sounds pretty good, less detailed than my RME ADI-2 Pro FS R but much much warmer and pleasant.
The same goes for the AD, a quick comparision between both gave me less detailed but more musical recording with the Nucleus 2.
I did not buy it for the interface because I'm already covered but I'm happy that it works and sounds good.

Now for the controller part of it.
One thing I did not consider is that the rotaries are not touch sensitive. It's no big deal for my use case, but the much cheaper Artist Mix that I used to own had them and it was easier to write automation in touch mode.

The buttons are great, the transport is solid so is the Jogwheel.
I like that it's more recent that the V1, which possibly means more years of use before it breaks.

The setup is not simple but if you're tech savvy you should be fine. I'm on windows though, mac might be a different story, I don't know. I get IPmidi network error every now and then, still trying to fix this but it's still very usable and seems to be related to Reaper.

The protools seems to work fine, same for the Ableton Live profile. I'm curently building a CSI profile for Reaper which will be way more powerful than the other stock profiles once I'm done with it.
The User 1 and User 2 mode are pretty nice to have, especially for other DAWs than Reaper (because in Reaper one has to build his own script with custom actions for anything he/she desires, making the User modes less essential).

Fadercaps are slippery under the fingers imo, so I will be replacing mine.

The colored and better screen of the UF8 seem nice and useful, better than the ones on the Nucleus but overall I much prefer the design of the Nucleus and having 16 faders is great. I hear the Nucleus feels better too.

Hope this helps! I used to own a sigma and wanted one so bad for years but the price new was high and I didn't have the desk space, I don't own the sigma anymore but I'm sure this would make a killer setup.

Echoing what’s been said about Nuc 1 and 2. I went for a Nucleus 1 and a Sigma a few months ago and couldn’t be happier. The only problem is we’re riding on obsolete technology and unfortunately there is nothing out there today or in the horizon to upgrade to if this thing stops working. Functionality, sound and build are top notch, nothing compares really.

Functionality with your setup is pretty close to the Matrix or XL Desk; for relatively not much coin minus the built-in patchbay and extra summing channels. Hard to beat.

I hear you on the last part that's why I wanted a controller that could manage the Sigma directly not via the plugin/DAW there are other protocols that should keep it running. Checkout the Sigma thread as I'm sure you have.

Eyeing either the Nucleus 1 or 2. If the 2 sells I snag the 1 but I gotta pay some stuff down a bit still reeling back from end of last/new year gear over spending.
