Anyone have or used a Altech MidiFACE EX?

I have an older G3 upgraded mac running pro tools and I was trying to get this midi interface working... if not have to get something else but thought it was worth a try, I only have 1 keyboard and 1 module. (Nova IIx and an E-MU planet earth). Wondering if anyone knows anything about it or knows where I can get any documentation...

Hi Adam,
Is it the serial 1 in, 3 out versions? I'm not familiar with that particular model. But there was/is many others that operate exactly the same.

If it is a 1in 3 out model, then you just need to run the OMS studio setup, and tell it to scan the serial port (modem or Printer) that the Interface is attached to. It'll see it as a standard serial Interface, but thats all ya need. Save the config, and get sequencing yuktyy

Mail back with details if the interface isn't 1 in 3 out will ya?

Hey, thanks for the response! Yea its just 1 in and 3 out, but when I have OMS search for it, some lights blink like there is activity, but it doesnt recognize it.... I dunno...

Does it show any interface at all in the OMS studio setup window?

It won't say 'Altech Midi Interface' etc... Just something like 'Midi Interface Modem' etc...

As its just a 1in 3out, it wont need any extra drivers. The ones it uses are built into OMS.

Does it have a thru button on it? If so. make sure thats in the Midi position.

Well it has a MIDI switch, but I definitely have that in the right position because it wont have any functioning lights in the other position. As far as OMS, it scans it, there is some activity, and then it just doesnt add anything ot the config...
