I just got a new Mac Mini M4 Pro.

Kirchhoff isn't showing up.

PA sys reqs state 'OS 15 downwards:

But I just spotted that Kirchhoff's own page states 14 downwards (ie not 15):

I've no idea if that's accurate or just an oversight.

Update: Solved it by installing Rosetta 2.

Kirchhoff is running perfectly on my M4 mac running Sequoia 15.3.2, no need for Rosetta 2.

Interesting. It hadn't worked for me until I added Rosetta 2, at which point it suddenly popped up.

You must have installed the wrong version, then.

It was installed by the latest version of the PA installation manager.

Unfortunately, you need Rosetta-2 for the installation on Silicone devices. The plugin will run natively on silicone, and the installer will not harm your performance.

A silicone-compatible installation manager will be available in a future update, but we need to know the implementation timeframe. I will forward this to the development team so they see the demand!

No, you are misunderstanding yet again. No one said at any point that the installer needs Rosetta.
It's Kirchoff which needs Rosetta 2.

I don't know how you are this confuddled.

In case you didn't know Rosetta *2* is for making Mac Intel-era software run on Apple Silicone (ie M1 and later).
Perhaps you are thinking about the original Rosetta, which is much older and allowed millennial PowerPC software to run on Intel Macs.

If it's not that, then I don't know what you are getting confused about. Try rereading the support statement. They say they are planning to update their (already Apple Silicone) Installer so that it features a new version of Kirchoff (which no longer needs Rosetta 2).

I hope that gets you all squared away!

To clarify further, I've only used one single installer from Plugin Alliance.

*BEFORE* I installed Rosetta 2... I successfully ran the installation manager, which installed all plugins, including Kirchoff.

All plugins worked then, except for Kirchoff.

I created this thread.

Subsequently I installed Rosetta 2... And then this and only this change then caused Kirchhoff to begin working.

I got rid of the PA version very early as it was a PITA.
Have zero issues with the TBT version.

Oh that's good to know. Did TBT allow you to have your original PA license rehomed on their own website at no extra cost, in order to achieve that? Do I simply email them to make that happen?

I use Kirchhoff since it’s release and it’s silicon native for ages.
I used in on my M1 and now on M4.

I also use both the TBTech and the PA versions and both are silicon native for several years, while the PA installer still isn’t.

You can read for yourself, directly on the PA website that so far only the AAX (Pro-Tools) plugin has been made Silicon native (version 1.6.4). You can see that subsequent updates talk about 'Fixed multiple issues under Rosetta translation environment on macOS'... And perhaps you can ask yourself - why would they even be working on improving Rosetta performance, if it was already native? It wouldn't make any sense at all, would it?... Who would want to run it under Rosetta 2, if it was already native?

Thanks for your efforts to help me troubleshoot. Everything is now working fine... But answering your specific question:

I'm almost definitely not running my DAW under Rosetta.

I'm running the latest stable version of Ableton 12.

Ableton 11 was available in 2 flavours... Intel vs Silicon.

Since Ableton 12 theres now only a 'universal' version, which works equally on both.

Given that it's a brand new machine and Ableton is literally the first thing I installed, I cannot think of any reason it would choose to run under Rosetta. Almost certainly it's running silicon, right?

So then no actual reply to the points?... Only an attempted insult that I 'have mental health issues'?

But as you can see in the screenshot from Pluginfo I uploaded, Kirchhoff has been AS native for some time. I don't know why you keep denying the sky is blue.

As for running Ableton in Rosetta, to check: right click app- Get info- check if "open using Rosetta" is checked.

Thanks for your constructive input. I did the test you suggested. Screenshot attached. As you can see, it's not being opened by Rosetta.

Is it possible you installed a different version from me?... As has already been suggested by other users, different versions exist, depending on if they came from PA or TBT.

I'm not 'denying the sky is blue'; I'm saying, factually, that Kirchhoff was already installed by the PA installer (components and VSTs visible in their respective folders) but wasn't showing up in the DAW.

To work right, the individual installer needs Rosetta 2.

Simple question:
Why are TBT working to improve the Rosetta 2 performance, in the most recent updates?
... Please actually think about what that means. Why would they be investing paid man-hours to improve Rosetta 2 performance, if it already ran under Silicon? Not a proverbial question. Which users would want to run it under Rosetta 2 if they could instead use native? Why would it be worth the developer's money?

Please try to switch on logic:

* The installer worked totally fine and installed every plugin, including Kirchhoff.

* Every plugin then worked, except for Kirchhoff.

* I installed Rosetta 2.

* I DID NIOT THEN LATER RUN THE INSTALLER AGAIN.

* Only after installing Rosetta 2, the plugin appeared.

......... Think about it. Please actually think about it. Your explanation, in which the installer needs Rosetta2... It would literally need a time machine (not in the Apple sense; an actual time machine) for your explanation to make sense.

If you see it differently, then just explain it. No need for insults.
