you need 16 i/o and have $1500, which option do you pick?

- 16 i/o --> 8 pres, 8 line-ins.
- no warranty on items marked with **
- 8 channel pre is ADA8200 or other of your choice
- RME Digiface, Focusrite Clarett warranty is 3 years, Audient EVO is 4.

What about the Arturia Audiofuse 16 that gives you 16 inputs?

Then add a 1-2 external ADAT ADs (ADA8200) if more input are needed.

The combo Behringer UMC1820 and AD8200 is the cheapest by far. You still would need XLR to TRS cables if you need TRS and combine it with e.g. PX2000 patchbay.

Arturia has all the ins/outs at the back and a few on the front.

RME Raydat with Ferrofish Pulse 16 is a bit more money wise but it would by my personal choice.

I have the 8Pre/OctoPre+, plus an ISA One. The pres are solid, everything plays well together, no issues. I considered most of those other options other than the A&H in some combination, went with FR for consistency’s sake and because it was a known quantity for me, but doubt there’s a wrong answer in those choices.

i dont have that many synths, which is why i excluded them, also im not sure how stable their stuff is.

yes i considered this too, but i need 8 pres and 8 lines of each (w.r.t raydat+pulse) so id still need a separate adat pre

behringer thought about it, but concerned about quality

arturia was initially on my list but i took it off because not enough pres, not sure i want to invest in all those line-ins. i'd rather use a cheap pre like ada8200 for line ins where the pres dont matter
