I'm surprised there isn't more hype about it; I was a beta tester for them but I actually think it is a really cool product. A Kemper profiler but for studio gear and in the box. I captured quite a few of my own and other's pieces of analog gear and it actually works pretty dang well. Maybe not 100% but very very close.

I'm just wondering on if you can tweak your trace's parameters (I.e. attack/release) within the controlhub interface and it reacts like it would if I was making the same move on the hardware? Or if you need to make a change would you have to go back to the hardware, dial in the change, then make a trace and reapply it in control hub?

Think of it as a snapshot, like a Kemper profile. It captures your settings and then you get generic controls you can adjust including attack and release etc.

I’m one of those “set it and forget it” types with most of my outboard…. So, something like this would be super cool if it works well!

Been testing this and also can’t believe there isn’t more hype / interest in it. I started tracing some API RND and LTL gear and the results are surprisingly close.. with some minor tweaking… I will make a video about this as I think this might be very underrated. One question: when making mono traces do you insert a mono maker plug-in before and after the unit you are tracing? I know there is a possibility to declare a trace mono for analysis, just wondering what happens if the trace is made on a mono hardware insert, but the tracing audio file sent to it is always stereo?? Any tips from users much appreciated!

Yes, I have the same question about the stereo tracer file. I haven’t figured out how to convert that stereo tracer file to a mono file using Logic Pro x.
