Rumours or info leaks about 2023 new Audio Interfaces
Hi all,
With the upcoming NAMM show (April 2023) and all the sales promotion and marketing campains (UAD most recently) i was wondering if there are any "news" out there (the thruth is out there remember ?) about any new audio interfaces releases from SSL, RME, UAD, Apogee, Neve....
Main question is should we delay any purchase until the NAMM event ?

I have heard rumors of a new line of upgraded Apollos, but Iโm in the same boat as youโฆ.I just donโt know.
I do know that I bought an Apollo X8 a few months ago, and Iโd have mixed feelings if I saw upgraded hardware. I bought my x8 in order to have an all in one unit that could run UAD plugs via dsp. Since that time, dsp has become unnecessary to run UAD stuff.
If I had this info a few months ago I would have gone with a Pro Tools HD system.

U still can track with low latency. A big plus from uad apollos. And still alot of the very good plug-ins are not ported yet.
I've heard a rumour that Thunderbolt is EOL at intel and that RME have stopped developing for it as have a few others. The chipsets are no longer in production?
There was supposed to be a discussion here on gearspace about it but I havent found it yet.

TB1 and 2 are EOL at intel for some time now. 2019 to be precise.
A new TB4 component was launched by intel on Q3 22.
Its starting to be more and more popular now. Those 12th gen with 600 series will all support it and put an axe on that very short M2 Max life superiority with that new i9 13980.

I was going to buy a pro tools HDX system and then I did a mix with 160 tracks and my system took it like a champ. So I am kind of waiting to see what's on the horizon this year.
I have a mark 1 Apollo 16 and it's starting to have LEDs die on the panel, etc. I've been using it daily since 2015.
I am kind of unsure what I want to do with where things are now.
questionabel if they really need sth like NAAM to debut a new interface. Im workin a lot with trade shows, and the focus of trade shows for companies changed a lot. The focus is not longer to Showcase new stuff. Internet is much better for this.
But maybe it is still a good hint that we can not expect a new interface.
