The X-Touch works with TotalMix.
I had it on a PC, running Cubase at the same time. But in this specific case, I only had the X-Touch controlling TotalMix and not Cubase. So I can't comment on how it could control both.
I would try, to just disable the fader control inside of Cubase and then it should work the way you described. I don't know, how it works with other DAWs.
