Some very valid points here, especially if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I just don’t remember any plug-in I own from any company that changes the sound of the plug-in completely in an update, unless it has more to do with a bug or something. I also think if I could install multiple versions of purple, for example the May and December version alongside each other that would help. I love AA and am not trying to talk crap, just have been wanting to share what happened with the latest Purple2 update and me, and didn’t even realize this thread existed until i ran across it a couple days ago.

Improper grammar forces your reader to work a lot harder. I stopped reading your run-on sentence about a fifth of the way through because of that.

Quick mention to keep things on topic, how many of you guys like the el Rey across a mix? I demo’d it awhile back, liked it but not enough to buy, but when the sale came around recently I went ahead and bought it. I tried using it on some vocals but it didn’t seem to beat what I already was using. So was curious if you guys like using it across a whole mix? On certain sources or busses only? just seeing how some of you guys have had success with it?

As far as my grammar and the quote above, I get it. I know when I read a post that’s similar to mine it can be hard to follow, it can be hard work and I will also give up on it, that being said a lot of well thought out and in depth posts on here are pure trash and hard to follow also, being filled with proper grammar and punctuation or not. In the IK Sunset studio thread a guy by the name of Judders posted the most refreshing and well written post that I have ever read on here, so well written and easy to understand that I actually was embarrassed to have my post in the same thread. I was actually also embarrassed for the guy debating him who had extremely proper sentences and so on but his way of articulating his points was pure garbage. Some of these posts I read on here have all the right words, grammar and punctuation but are as terrible or worse than my run on sentences, those are also hard work to read, jus saying.

In person i sometimes speak very fast(also rap fast, not all the time, but I do genuinely flow nicely and easy on the ears all the time) but am also clear and well spoken, something my run on sentences do not accurately reflect. My mind tends to move very fast and can scatter quickly, I can’t type properly as fast as I think and if I slow down to start working on proper grammar and punctuation the thought has left, so why not get it out then go back and fix it you ask? Well if I had the patience to do that I’m sure I’d be much better off in all aspects of life, not that I’m not doing well or anything, I’m extremely grateful and happy, but have always been a little hyper, this has been a great advantage in making music and expressing emotions(emotions are automatic response to our thoughts) not so much posting on gearslutz with my level of typing and cordination.

All that being said, yes I need to work a lil more in order to get my point across in a more pleasing and easy to read way.

I need to work to be more like Judders, proper all around but easy to read and follow, you can’t teach that though haha reminds me of me in person(yeah right hahah but for real). Too bad they deleted a slew of those posts(I think somebody might have quoted his first post, literally his first post to put this guy on blast, he was a long time lurker first time poster).

I work at a university and see writing issues all the time. There are two simple rules that will help a lot: (1) A sentence is basically a noun and a verb, and (2) have one idea per paragraph.

Regarding the first point, a sentence is technically a subject and predicate, but it's easier to understand as a noun and a verb. For example, "the man ran to the park" contains the "man" as the noun and "ran" as the verb, and it's a complete sentence. If I say "I think my writing is bad, I will work on it," there are two sentences there and I need a period or a semicolon in between there instead of a comma (most appropriately a semicolon). In the first part, "I" is the noun and "think" is the verb. In the second part, "I" is the noun and "work" is the verb. Thus, these are two sentences and a comma in between them is called a comma splice. If you want to link two (or more) sentences or clauses, you can with conjunctions (words like "and" and "but" and "so"). Most people don't know what a sentence is and their writing is littered with comma splices.

The second rule (one idea per paragraph) is basically self-explanatory. Say what the idea of the paragraph is pretty much right away (a "topic sentence"), elaborate, and then have a new paragraph for a different idea. It's difficult to follow a piece of writing when It's a block of text.

Does anyone know if AA Scarlet and the 432 master eq from t-racks are modeled after the same unit? they look very similar in design.

I really like how the 432 sounds but have not been using it too much lately. I was putting it right before the final limiter and feel that my masters sound better without the final limiter, as it’s mostly just to catch anything from going over due to the 432. I might revisit such chain and demo Scarlet again, demo’d it once sometime ago but barely messed with it.

How do you guys like Scarlet compared to the 432? And where do you like these types of eq’s in the mastering chain?

This is the first time I've been in the studio since mid November due to a major home renovation.

During this time, I've become a new Acustica customer, and have since accumulated a substantial amount of Acqua's, including N4 and some libraries - fiendishly!

On a freshly formatted machine, I've begun installing all these wonderful gems via Aquarius. Seems like I'll be at it for a while.

Soon I'll be able to chime in with my thoughts on the sound and workflow of various Aqua's, if the opportunity presents itself.

I do say, I'm excited!

If you installed the standard (non-Catalina version) we suggest uninstalling Modula using Aquarius
(in the update page choose "uninstall" option beside M4) and install Modula "Catalina edition".

Lemon is the rare example in today's world of a software effect worth buying. Really good and quality delay. Just good sounding, vibey. Feels solid.

Do Cobalt or Lemon have 48k vector packs?

Absolutely love lemon as well. Only thing that I don't like is that the feedback is so hard to control, even just turning the output or filter knobs a tiny bit can be the difference between the delay fading out too quickly or quickly overloading the output. A bit less coarse controls would make it so much easier to use. Maybe it's also possible to make the distortion when the output gets louder less unpleasant sounding when the core engine is updated

If you downloaded the latest version/update you probably already have them. It's not a separate download like Emerald2.

Always been a Mac Logicx user,(although that was going to change with Intel 9990K, AMD Ryzen, etc.), and was looking to change DAW's/ Computer's, by firstly comparing with Reaper6 Imperial Theme, and Studio One 4.5, to Logicx, on my old 2010 Mac Pro 5.1, 12 Core XEON 3.46Ghz, 96Gb Ram, thinking Reaper would be king.

And before the OSX upgrade from High Sierra, Reaper was king by a long shot(4plugins in series on Reaper, compared to 2 in Logicx), when I was on Mac OSX 10.13.

Just finished upgrading to Mojave OSX 10.14.6, and with Logicx 10.4.8, I found after a quick test that I can still only run 4 EL Ray zl, in series on one audio channel in Reaper6, 3 in Studio One 4.5, but now run 5 AA plugins (Elray 64 bit Zl) in Logicx, before the CPU starts to stutter the audio, on a single core.

Doesn't make sense to me that Logic would suddenly be better than Reaper, given it's past CPU balance issues.

Not complaining, but would anyone else care to comment why this would be the case?

Not sure if this pertains to your situation, but if you're using the latest update of Reaper, supposedly you have to enable multicore support somewhere in the options menu. (or something like that)

It may be "un-ticked" by default now.

Your right! Reaper has regained it's crown as king, on my old system, equivalent to Intel I3.

Intel I9 9900K, must absolutely rock in comparison.

Found a gold mine of information from 'The REAPER Blog' on youtube after searching for 'Optimizing REAPER Buffer Settings for best performance'

Can now run 7 EL Ray Zl 64bit in series, compared to 4 previously. Logicx has definitely improved though, as 5 is alright.

After minor tweaking, basically following Jon's settings, by adding 2 to "Allow live multi-processing on 2 CPU"
and manually setting "Audio/reading processing threads to 14" (2 more than my 12 core cpu)

Also device setting (request block size) to 2048, as I'm not tracking, along with the rest of Jon's recommendations. (50% of some other default settings)

Will keep experimenting to see if I can squeeze some more out of the other DAW's.

Anyone having trouble with the new release of Modula? Won't install, goes to 6mbs and says error. I've done everything possible to fix the issue. Purged, restarted the PC. Uninstalled the previous Modula (was working) now I can't even get the older version back because it's not an option in Aquarius. Any help?

I have a problem when trying Lemon Trial, using the latest version of Aquarius.

LemonT has made my other VSTi going slow, as if there's a huge latency. When I close the plugin (LemonT), everything runs normal again. It's not a buffer thing, I've tried everything possible. Also the VSTi runs normally using the LemonTZL, just can't use it, too cpu hungry.

I've contacted support, but no clear solution up to now. Did anyone have the same experience here? I'm on Windows 10 (Intel/GTX), using Live 10.1.7 and it's rock solid for everything else.

I'm confused, there are two versions in the Aquarius installer, the TRIAL:

But nothing to click for trial and support said that both are the same.
