Sm58 bolt cutting audio
Hi everyone, I today fixed a vintage SM58 as a wire had come loose, and was nearly at the end of my tether- I kept soldering, for it to work, then a few minutes later stop working.
I unsoldered and soldered 10 times, and then noticed by the capsule the bolt. This was loose, and when I tightened it, the mix no longer cut out.
What is this bolt for exactly? It's on my new SM58 as well, didn't realise it affected the signal in anyway but it must.
