Hello! I am 16, have been making music for 4 years, and am looking for a full, 3-way speaker setup for my room with a flat-looking frequency response. I'm looking for suggestions on studio monitors and component speaker options and am not looking to break the bank. Any suggestions help, and thank you!

Never used 3-ways. Wish I could help. There are a ton of really experienced folks around here that will be able to help. They will probably want to know if you have a sub, what your listening room looks like as far as treatment, what type of music you work with, budget, and if you are using headphones too. Lay out some of this and they will be able to give you really specific recommendations.

Say no to drugs.

There aren't many affordable 3 ways out there. Kali IN 8 comes to mind as one option.

With absolutely no other information to go by except that you are 16 and don't want to break the bank and are looking for something full range...

I can thoroughly recommend a used Blue Sky system if you can find one. This sadly defunct company was committed to producing reasonably priced 2:1 monitoring systems (two 2-way satellites plus a sub), many of which cost upwards of $1-5k when they were new and can now be found on the used market for way less. While they aren't perhaps as ruler flat as expensive nearfields, a Blue Sky system is as close to 'full-range' on a budget as you will ever get. And despite what you may read about subs, I can tell you from first-hand experience that placing a 2:1 system in a sub-optimal room is way easier than finding the sweet spot for a pair of larger 2-ways. I mixed plenty of records on my ProDesks for a decade or more with no issues at all - still have them in fact, as they're great for checking what's really going on at 30Hz which even my much more expensive Amphions can't handle.

I've been using these off and on for 5 years to mix on, and I've received a fair number of compliments on my mixes. I don't mind using them at all....and I have minimal treatment going on.

No speakers are flat. You need to put the speakers in your room, measure the room and then treat the room until the measurements are flat. Check out Eric Valentine's "The End Of The Acoustic Rainbow' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bMyYpS2vwE (and related videos) He goes over a lot on getting your room flat.

Here's one mix that was done on the logitechs, for example. They're easy to connect to your interface, you just need to keep the interface volume decent so you don't overload the input of the logitech system. No one told me it sounded horrible! lol

Is there a reason you want 3-way monitors? I would take slightly higher end 2ways over very low end 3s any day of the week. What is your budget looking like? Neumann KH120s (with the sub, if you can afford it) would be fairly flat, especially with the onboard room EQ stuff. However, if your room isn’t treated (which I imagine it isn’t), I would go for VSX. This is basically the exact scenario that they’re made for.
