Hi All,
I'm looking for a line-in ADAT expander and the FF Pulse 16 and SSL Alpha 8 look like interesting potential models to consider.
I'm keen to understand if the difference in lower spec for FF Pulse is really going to be noticeable in a project studio environment (used mainly as hardware outboard inserts etc for Protools mixing and supplementary ins for recording) - particularly as you get double the i/o count of the Alpha for a reasonably comparable price.
Has anyone encountered any severe (audible) drawbacks when working with the FF with external pres, 500 series dynamics in terms of noise and/or conversation quality etc?
Also, does anyone know if the Audient ID48 can operate as an ADAT i/o expander with pres / line in rather than an interface and how this would be set up?
Thanks in advance.
