SSL Alpha 8 - Experiences?

Hi GS,

We're a few weeks/months down the line from NAMM now and has anyone had any experiences with this unit used as an audio interface for line-level input/output only?

Any thoughts positive or negative based on real experiences, including the software mixer would be really appreciated.

I have been told they are not shipping till end of the month, at the earliest, by my dealer.

Also usually there is Youtube videos and the like just before they ship, so I guess we wait a few weeks.

Personally I'm up for 3 units for 24 I/O. Price is good and I have every expectation of good quality on this one. Really like the switchable levels and double hole ADAT (unlike Prism).

Normally they'd run off an RME Digiface for phase sync, but occasionally I plan to use one on its own with the software, so keen to see too.

Would also be good to see a Julian Krause review across the tech specs in case of anything expected in the performance.....
