Hi - bit of a cheeky question, but it’s harder than I thought to find this info online.

I have an antelope discrete 8, and a bunch of lovely preamps - APIs, AML ez1073s etc. I record drums happily with this set up but I’m starting to want more than 8 inputs. Rather than upgrade to a 16 or 32 interface and also buy more nice pres (eye-wateringly expensive) I have been checking out the universal 4 710 twin finity.

My question is - could I just connect it up to my discrete 8 via adat and it will just pop up on the antelope software? Is it as simple as that?

assuming your drivers are up to date for both the universal and antelope for your OS, and you make the proper adat connections - yes it will work

be sure to set the antelope as the master clock and sync it to your universal and the new pre channels should show up in your antelope software
