Hey all,
I have a little bit of money to put into a new microphone. I have a a group of mics that I like having around for specific reasons, and I'm looking for something new to add to the mix.
Currently, I have:
Oktava MK-319 (stock, Russian)
MXL V69M
Beyerdynamic M169n
Cascade Fathead
Cascade Fathead BE
Shure SM7B
Shure KSM137
Shure Sm57
Everything into a Clarett 4Pre, and 2 GAP 73's, or DMP3.
Now, I think that's a pretty good smattering of flavors, though I think that my high-end is a little under-represented. Meaning, I have a lot of dark sounding microphones, and nothing that's super clear and bright in the top of the frequency spectrum. I'm thinking a Large Diaphragm Condensor to fit this niche- also possibly with multiple patterns.
I'm planning on selling the Fathead BE, and possibly the V69M. I've also thought about buying another MK 319 to pair with mine and use as overheads, cuz I do like those.
Seeing what I already have, and recognizing that I'm posting this in the Low End Theory forum, is there something that sticks out that I may like for recording vocals and acoustic instruments? I'm open to hearing a lot of opinions.
Thank you in advance!
