Did a mix in the box and then stemmed it out to console. Surprised that the box mix sounded tighter.
not much of a surprise: imo analog summing is over-hyped and one needs a much better reason to leave the digital domain (plus very good converters when doing so)...

I thought your first post in this thread was saying that the itb version sounded better than the analog summed version. Or did you mean "tight" as a pejorative?

Actually it did until I pushed up the analog faders then it was better in analog.

not my experience: i prefer digital summing of my studer desk over analog summing of my mci desk mainly due to the better/more precise stereo image; i'll go through a couple of transformers elesewhere if i'm after this sound...
