I had one for a while and it got some use.
I find open mic events are a great way to figure out a new vocal mic, so took it to the one I ran the sound for regularly.
As I remember it, GBF was fine, but it was "coloured" in the same way as an SM58, N/D767a, etc. I find if a voice has a peak/rasp/whistle/something that coincides with a peak in the mic, it can end up sounding rough and you have to fight with EQ to get it sounding okay again.
IMO, the e935 is a bit smoother/flatter, which makes it a better all-round choice.
IME, you can use cheaper mics, but you have to get selective over which vocal "fits" which mic. As a live sound engineer working around 100 shows a year, I can't afford to spend the time in soundcheck swapping out vocal mics - I need something that'll work first-time.
All that said, in its price bracket, the V7 is a decent choice.
It's just that as you move up the price scale, there are options there which are IMO more useful.
