What's the best way to set up the monitoring options for recording? When I installed MixBus5 I selected the Hardware option. I'm using an interface which has a pop-up control panel, and I'm listening through a headphone amp connected to the analogue outputs of the interface.

To monitor while recording I had to go into the top section of the armed track and click one of the "In" / "Disk" buttons to be able to hear. However, I could hear a slapback echo effect, which was disconcerting. Presumably I was hearing a live input, and also a signal coming from the DAW.

I'm struggling to get my head around all the routing options! Should I try to set MixBus to use its own monitoring rather than hardware monitoring?

I've just checked the settings under Edit->Preferences->SignalFlow and it was actually set to MixBus. Next time I'll try the Audio Hardware options, but it would still be helpful to know the best way to record. I've read the manual, but I haven't fully understood it!
