Description

Most low-cost condenser microphones have a noticeable harsh and bright tone that makes them hard to sit in a mix and can sound fatiguing over time. The Stellar X2 is different in that we carefully tuned its capsule and circuit to produce a sound that is very smooth and easily sits in any mix without the tinny harshness of low-cost condenser microphones.

Furthermore, our custom-made low noise transformerless JFET circuit uses high-quality components such as German imported WIMA capacitors and high tolerance parts. Our K67 style capsule is made from Japanese imported mylar and is gold sputtered with our proprietary technology. The combination of these features yields a microphone with a high output signal, extremely low distortion, low self-noise, and a very balanced sound. To ensure every microphone provides maximum gain without distortion, the JFET in every Stellar X2 is manually biased in-house so you can rest assured that your microphone will perform at its best. In addition, we use a high-quality steel body with powdered coated paint to ensure this microphone will last a lifetime.

TZ Audio Stellar X2 mic

Here are two more clips of the TZ Stellar X2 in action with no EQ or compression. Once again, a cappella singing with harmonies this time. The more I use this mic the more I like it. I'm beginning to think that it represents a genuine high water mark for inexpensive LDCs. http://chirb.it/kzyF8N http://chirb.it/st2L9y

Best Value Vocal Mic Opinions

You don't owe me anything, and certainly not an explanation. I wholeheartedly encourage you to do what makes you happy and provides you with meaningful and enjoyable experiences, and I mean that with no sarcasm or condecension. I'm posting simply because I myself would have wanted to hear it if/when I was in your position....

Recording a 3 piece

...m2 (only 2channels) Mics: Sennheiser md441, oktava 012 x3 (1omni, 2 cardioid, 2hyper cardioid capsules available), beyer m201, techzone audio stellar x2. My initial thinking is Oktava 012 omni for the guitarist and bassist and the tech zone stellar x2 for the singing guitarist. This will give a little control over the main vocal/guitar hopefully. Any suggestions...
