Lots of really excellent suggestions in this thread. Thanks to everyone who has participated so far. Here is what I went with, drumroll please... I found a good deal on a local Yamaha SK-15 - one of those analog string machine/organ/divide-down poly synth combos of which there are so many from the late 70s and early 80s....

Juno DS has all Juno-Stage patches and I've also found them on Fantom X sound list. Juno-Stage and Sonic Cell share patch/waveform list btw, even same numbers.
And just for the trivia, first Fantom from 2002 was called Fantom FA61/76/88 - I could bet Fantom S was the first one
