The Renowned Yamaha "NS" Sound Scaled up For Professional Monitor Use
Features
Optimum Driver Design and Matching
The woofers have been designed with a lower resonant frequency for accurate, extended bass response, and the dual-woofer configuration delivers greater, optimally balanced power in the bass region. The soft-dome midrange driver operates from 1.3 kHz up to 5.5 kHz. The relatively high crossover to the soft-dome tweeter (5.5 kHz) both minimizes the power handling requirements of the tweeter and allows the unit to be designed for smooth, flat response right up to 20 khz.
No-Compromise Component Newtwork Design
The crossover network is constructed as three independent filter units. Both sophisticated measurements and listening tests were used to achieve the cleanest sound possible.
Heavy-Duty Low-Resonance Enclosure
Constructed from a specially-selected high-density particle board that is 21 millimeters thick, and carefully reinforced to eliminate resonance that could color the sound. Large, rugged cable connectors that easily accept heavy gauge speaker cable are provided.
I have an opportunity to buy a pair of NS40's for a reasonable price - does anyone know if the woofer and tweeter are the same as those found in the NS10? I don't want them as speakers but if they are the same parts, it would be worth it for parts...
...all of that and collaborating/helping other people, which is inspiring. As an avid NS10 user, I'm also very curious about your NS40. How do they compare to NS10 and how would you describe their sound?
...aren't. Personally I love my ns10s. They're on 90% of the time in my room with no sub on. The ns40s look cool. And are a fun alternative. But they're definitely not the same kind of tool. I plan on keeping them because having them around makes me happy. But I'm hoping I'll get...
