Solera v3 is a comprehensive full band dynamics processor combining the power of a compressor, expander, de-compressor and de-expander, all four processing in parallel, designed to provide powerful dynamics processing for any challenging situation and still preserve, or recover, the true natural quality of the audio material without adding any artifacts.

Preset and Parameter Handling
  • Preset/Parameter slots
  • To enhance the workflow the two Preset/Parameter slots, A and B, can be loaded with two full set of parameters at the same time. Apart from saving each preset, a “Global Preset” containing both the A and B settings, and the position of the “Morphing Slider”, can be saved.

Upward expansion

Not hardware, but Flux Solera is a flexible plug-in that does both upward expansion and upward compression, as well as regular compression and downward expansion. The gain range (cap) setting, variable knee, variable lookahead, and advanced release (minimum, maximum/target and velocity of the semi-auto release) means you can do some very nice precision work.

Upward expansion

...intentionally. A real upward compressor is specifically designed for upward compression or it will have a dedicated algorithm for this. The Flux Solera or FabFilter Pro-MB both have real upward compression algorithms. Although the Pro-MB is multiband it can be used in wideband mode as well, but I prefer the Solera for wideband purposes. Fake upward...

what? Messed up smiley It's a single band dynamic processor with a multistage detector, much like Flux Solera, SmartComp or others.
