Description

Overview:

Based on the G-Series channel dynamics processing from one of the best-known British recording consoles, the DYN4000 comprises compressor / limiter and expander / gate sections.
The plugin includes a true RMS side-chain detector, while the compressor provides a switchable soft / hard knee characteristic, ensuring smooth onset of compression at the threshold point or more aggressive dynamics control on demand.
Switchable fast attack settings are provided as is variable programme dependent release.
An expander / gate section provides a 1:2 downward expander or a 1:∞ gate setting with threshold hysteresis.

Developed by a design team including two former Solid State Logic (SSL) engineers, with detailed understanding of the original hardware.

Who is using OverTone DSP plugins?

...described in the user manual but best explained by just playing around with them on different material. I'll post some OverTone DYN4000 vs. Sand4 comparisons if anyone is interested. I consider it to be the king of "1980s British" channel compressor plugins.
