Nothing too fancy, just an Odyssey - Yamaha MX61 and a Roland A49 controller. Still waiting for my Deepmind 6 and possibly a Grandmother.
Been there. Got a Yamaha MX61. Problem solved. Will that work for you? Yep. Any sub-$1k workstation would do just as well: Roland's Juno DS (or Fa-06), Korg's Kross (or Krome) because that's what they're designed for: doing a little bit of everything. Would you prefer something else? Maybe; there *are* small differences that could matter...
...with the Nord C1. FWIW I tried a lot of romplers, including the E-mu Vintage Keys, an E-mu PK6, a Yamaha MX61, and maybe even a Roland JV-something. None of them felt or sounded right. I even sampled my own Farfisa Compact and loaded it into my Kurzweil, and it just didn't sound or feel...
