Yet another case of a consumer cheaping out and buying half a system. The Fishman will sound better with its matching pre-amp...especially if the pickup is properly (read professionally) installed. It shouldn't be up to you to compensate for such misers, but if you want a catch-all solution in your kit, spring for a Baggs...

...it for sampling and listening music. Normally you use a phono to line converter. But i do have an Alesis Mictube duo Can i just hook it up, and gain it, or do i really need to buy a phono preamp?
