Description

New synthesis technology - FS Synthesis (Formant shaping / FM synthesis) - creates sound with characteristics and flexibility similar to the human voice for extraordinary sonic depth and expressive control. Upward compatible with voices from the "classic" FM synthesizers and tone generators, such as the Yamaha DX and TX series. Formant Sequences - "Fseqs" - produce other-worldly vocal phrases, rhythm loops, and more. Assignable control knobs for extended real-time sonic control as well as easy programming. A huge selection of 1408 preset voices, including the best from the original DX and TX series. Yamaha FM synthesis is back with more musical depth and expressive power than ever before! The FS1R Formant Shaping/FM Synthesis Tone Generator is a perfect example of how a classic tone generation system can evolve to become the music tool of choice for a new generation of artists. While sample-based tone generators merely reproduce a recorded waveform - with added envelopes, filtering, and effects for variety - the FS1R actually creates sound, and therefore offers total control right down to the waveform level. It also includes innovative Formant Shaping technology for even greater sonic scope. The overall result is unmatched musicality and expressive depth ... and after all, that's what music is all about.

FS1R

Prepare to meet a totally new species of tone generator. For the first time ever it is possible to produce and control sounds with characteristics and flexibility similar to that of the human voice.

Yamaha Formant Shaping Synthesis

Yamaha Formant Shaping synthesis and the bonus is that it's based on an architecture, which lends itself ideally to FM synthesis similar to the type, introduced in the legendary Yamaha DX-series synthesizers.

FS1R Formant Shaping/FM Synthesis Tone Generator

FS1R Formant Shaping/FM Synthesis Tone Generator can create anything from totally new simulations of the human vocal sounds, rhythm loops, and exhilarating trance/techno patterns to classic DX electric piano voices... and anything in between.

Extraordinary Sound

The "formants" which are the key to the FS1R's extraordinary sound can be controlled via real-time controllers, envelope generators, LFOs, velocity, and a range of 90 preset "Fseqs" (Formant Sequences) which can produce unique vocal phrases, rhythm loops, and more.

New Levels of Versatility

The FS1R takes FM synthesis to new levels of musical versatility and control, significantly expanding the range of sound, which can be produced.

Bulk Data

Since the FS1R can receive bulk data from Yamaha DX-series synthesizers, you can easily load and use or edit existing FM voices. Of course, the ability to combine Formant Shaping with FM opens a whole new universe of musical possibilities.

Real-Time Control

Real-time control is another of the FS1R's strong points. In addition to recognizing the full range of MIDI control change assignments, the FS1R features four Controller Knobs, which can be assigned to a wide range of parameters for extraordinarily versatile, expressive real-time performance control. The knobs also function as data entry controls while editing for fast, efficient operation.

Voices and Memories

The FS1R also offers an extraordinary range of 1536 voice memories and 512 performance memories (including a number of classic FM sounds), a versatile dynamic filter, a powerful internal effects system, flexible EQ, and much, much, more.

Express Yourself

If you're looking for a totally new way to express yourself in sound, don't miss the Yamaha FS1R.

No need for an expensive FS1R anymore with a confusing interface, get this 16 part mutitimbral 300 voice 4 stereo outputs and 6 operators. Plus a large touchscreen with an intuitive interface. Have it. Had the FS1R. This is awesomer.

Smile smiley I have the MicroQ, which I love, but is a bit slow to program. So I have ordered this one: It's stuck in transit in France, but I guess that's normal during Tour de France. Fresh flower smiley
