Hey guys,

I got a question concerning the vocal designer and mic gain situation on the V-Synth XT. I´m using the vocoder with a standard dynamic gooseneck mic and have set the input to normal (not Hi-Z or phantom power). To get a proper signal at the output i have to turn the input gain nearly to maximum and i also have to enable the compressor+ns in the mic settings tab. Without the compressor enabled, the input is clipping when speaking loudly, but i´m not getting a loud enough signal at the output. Is that normal? Maybe other v-synth owners, or guys who have experience with the synth can tell me if thats the normal.

Hi Z is for guitar signals. I would think that would only be on the jack.
48V would probably only transfer power over the XLR and it's likely for mikes which need phantom power. such as condenser mikes.

it may be best if you are using an XLR terminating cable. if the mike is dynamic it probably doesn't need phantom power. so normal will be the setting.

it's then good to set up an input compressor and some EQ if needed.
as you change the few input setting programs those are automatically there with the same setting next time. so you could make a few. it may be the mike is not so hot.

you do usually need that compression.
