I've never played them, but I've only ever heard fantastic things about those Kawai controllers. Seems like they got those very right!
I'm also a fan of the Roland RD series, and I would actually put the RD2000 just about on par with the Nord Piano, if not higher, since it has a bigger variety of top-quality sounds beyond acoustic and electric pianos. That would be a great way to go.
I'm a professional pianist/keyboardist and I'm honestly still very happy with my venerable Yamaha P85. It's not graded but I love how it feels, I've had it forever and probably won't replace it anytime soon! Got it for $200 on Craigslist ages ago.
