Anyone has this device?

I need an interface to record my synths/gear into separate channels, so 12-16 LINE inputs is what I'm looking for... On top of that 1 MIC input would be nice.

Can you please recommend a device which can do this well Thanks!

I bought one second-hand after doing a LOT of research. It's a great piece of hardware let down by poor drivers. The supplied drivers do not work at all for me. The latest updates seem worse than those they replaced :P

I have 2 win7 machines - On one it works flawlessly using ASIO4ALL instead of factory drivers. I can get 12 simultaneous input channels at down to 128sample buffer.

On my other machine it causes a blue screen of death. Support isn't very responsive.

When it's working it works well. Every now and then it farts and needs re-starting. It's fine for my small experimental studio, but honestly I would look elsewhere for reliability. It's a bit of a gamble.

Also, I cannot use the digital input, but no biggie - I'm happy with the 16 line inputs.

A shame really because the converters sound really good and it's a well-specced machine on paper and solidly built.

I've had mine for a couple of years now.

I've used it with a Windows XP laptop and a Mac (with OSX Lion). It works OK with both. Sound quality is very high and it basically does what you expect it to do.

The software control panel is pretty useless. Mine has a loose connection in one of the monitoring volume potentiometers that I've never bothered to get fixed.

It does the job and is not junk. It is (or at least was when I bought it) the cheapest way to get lots of inputs if you have a lot of hardware.

I just thought I'd mention here that ESI have (finally) released a new Mac driver for the ESU1808.

You must install this to use it with OSX Mountain Lion. I've just upgraded my computer to Mountain Lion and upgraded the driver, and at first glance it appears to work.

I'll update here if there are any problems.
