Hey guys I got a roland s-550 that I'm trying to resurrect. I installed a great gotek drive already and it's working to load samples from the pendrive, some outs is not good but IΒ have at least a stereo pair to work with (I plan to look at this further). The main problem is the sample line in, the recording gets a distorted audio, but not like digital clipping, more like some kind of metallic sound like maybe a computer extremely low sample rate like 5k maybe (hardware samplers doesn't sound like this no matter how low sample rate you get) , I think maybe it's AD conversion problem. I bought another s-550 for parts, and changed the little board that has the line input jack and headphone out, but it doesn't worked. The s-550 I got for parts had all the outs with this same kind of noise when I load samples from the disk drive, but when I tested the line input, it looks like it sampled the signal well, based on the waveform it shows. I didn't find where is the AD converter from the line/mic, is it in the main digital board or in this little board that have the line jacks ? Anyone ?
