Realise this isn't a synth, but interesting hardware realise from Korg. (I bet Roland had a little shock this morning). and perhaps a good sign that they are pursuing more obscure hardware instruments, (a positive sign that they are are in a good position financially).

Perhaps my dream of Korg MIDI Bagpipes isn't a lost cause after all.

It's about time for a new side music genre, maybe Korg know something we don't.

If nothing else, it signifies Korg are probably in a healthy position, as this isn't the sort of low yield, obscure product you would develop and sell to a small market, if you were in a dicey situation financially.

Ok… I clicked this thread with no expectations of an accordion. Boy was I surprised.

Maybe bagpipes is next??

The 2024 version: Welcome to hell, here’s your Korg digital midi accordion!! Maybe it has a harp preset, just in case you get to go on a field trip to heaven!

So made with Dexibell people, former Roland. No surprises, it's a small world.

I'm curious about the technology, maybe dig up the patents later.

I know you're all having fun joking, but one of the best sets I've seen used a MIDI accordion strictly for VST control, and it was one of the best sets I've seen in the last few years. The accordion bellows were a type of breath control/volume, and the chord buttons were reprogrammed. In ways it was more expressive than a MPE controller like Linnstrument.
