Hi, I just bought a used Axiom Pro 61 for little money. I looked for it mainly for the Hypercontrol function of Pro Tools and I find it very useful for that. However the keyboard is one of the worst I've ever played: it's plasticky and unreliable. Velocities are out of order and some keys ended up not making good contact after a short time. I tried to take it apart and clean it but i had little improvements. My question is: is it possible to replace all the keybed with a better one, for example a Fatar? If so, will the internal connections be compatible?

Sensible option: add a keyboard with keys that you do like, then merge the MIDI inputs.

A more radical option: consider chopping off the keyboard entirely so that you just have a thin bar with controls. That'd probably be easier.
