I want to riff off of the link above as a starting point for suggestions for something OTHER than a mioXL. It does not seem like there is a USB MIDI and USB hub in one box that would work for what I imagine is an ideal signal chain.
Part of the point of this post is to get my thoughts out there as a means to organize and imagine what I want to do.
Do you know differently by your experience?
According to iconnectivity,

if your MIDI device is listed as not compatible with our USB-MIDI Host post it is usually impossible for us to make changes in our hardware or firmware to make it compatible, since the incompatibility lies in the way the device's original manufacturer has implemented their USB protocol. If the MIDI device is not 100% USB-MIDI class compliant there's unfortunately little we can do to make it work
I have a Push 2 (PSU powered), a Maschine Mk3 (PSU powered), a Novation SL Mk3 (PSU powered), Xone:K2, Zoom L8.
That's minimum 5 USB type-A to host holes needed.
The Maschine, K2, and L8 (on batteries) seem to run fine but warm on a bus-powered USB2.0 hub.
Still, it would be cool to run five devices through a PSU powered hub that was USB 3.2 type-C to host with at least one USB C out as well. Any recommendations?
That's a starting point that as a whole is NOT COMPATIBLE with a mioXL.
Only Xone:K2 is listed as compatible.
Novation SL M3 and Push (user mode) but not Push 2 is mentioned as partial compatibility.
Maschine is absolutely not compatible.
I've read/heard USB MIDI is more reliable than 5 pin etc and I have not mentioned using MIDI holes on the SL Mk3, Push 2, etc. I may default to that if I cannot find a compatible for me device like the mioXL.
Moving on, for the price mioXL seems over/underkill for the next ideal for my signal chain.
Moving from the starting point:
I have some Yamaha drum machines that I want to be able to import/export sysex.
I have some analog guitar pedals that accept midi control for digital controls.
I want to be able to USB for file import and MIDI controls with a Loopstation RC-50.
I imagine I want ability with K2 and/or SL Mk3 to do most pedal controls in parallel or diff channels as controls for Ableton in addition to plugins like Reaktor, Battery, and/or Absynth.
I guess I should look into separate MIDI tracks for pedal control in Ableton thru a Push 2 for this too. I want mention I need to minimize my CPU usage because it shoots up and crackles rather quickly on my 2015 win 10 64 HP Envy.
For forward compatibility I am looking at the Faderfox12 or EC4 to be compatible for USB MIDI and/or USB hub.
Of course there are the mystical MPE concepts coming down the pipe.
I have a lot going on in this post.
I am asking for recommendations for a device like the mioXL that is initially compatible with Push 2, Maschine 2 Mk3, Novation SL Mk3, Xone:K2, Zoom L8.
I haven't yet considered RJ45 networking for some of the above compatible devices.
If a compatible device like mioXL is not currently available, a PSU powered USB 3.2 type-C to host that can accommodate 6-8 3.0+ type-A outs, at least one type-C out, and a MIDI USB hub that the USB hub is compatible with.
I have at least five devices downstream that will take only MIDI 5 pin. Some are IN/OUT/THRU, IN/OUT, and IN only.
In the future, I'd like USB or MIDI compatibility with Fadefox12 and EC4 or some similar hardware solution.
Thanks in advance for your patience reading my pretentious, rambling writing and your kind thoughts and critical input.
