Would anyone have an idea? Some sounds only or most of the rom?

I already have the VST's I am interested in the newer Korg sounds and want to expand the sonic territory.

I have read that it's more akin to Trinity, M3/M50 (which I never owned but heard great things).

I am looking for all rounder for both acoustic and synth sounds, hoping there wouldn't be too much overlap except for better resolution on standard sounds.

Korg tends to keep all their greatest hits regarding multi-samples, going all the way back to the M1 (and earlier) while adding or replacing with new ones. Your best bet is to just get the manuals and compare to see how many are in common.

The Krome is based on the M3/M50 version of the Korg engine, but even there, the multi-samples are slightly different or expanded. The Trinity engine (ACCESS?) seems to be a little different from the usual form, from what I remember. It definitely has its own sound, different from both the Tritonn that came after and whichever wave thingy that came before.

Yes I have checked the sounds list it's a bit hard to tell.

I know they released a separate M1 pack as an addon (I don't need because M1 VST).

For now, I will consider the Krome EX to not have much affinity with the Triton which is a good thing.

Some folks are saying it sounds like a Triton but this may seem a bit of a stretch.

It really looks like the samples are coming from another lineage (to your point M3 etc..)

The Triton sounds a bit... grainier?... than the Krome, which I attribute to the multi-sample sample rate and the DACs. I think the Krome sound has a bit more presence compared to the Triton, which I dislike as much as I adore my M50 sound, which can sound as sweet as a Kurzweil when it comes to strings and effects, etc. I'm not sure that the variety of sample material really matters, except in sheer numbers, especially of drum sounds, since Korg always tries to get a good cross section for each of their releases.

If you already have the M1 VST, you could just get the Triton VST and call it done, unless you specifically need a keyboard. All of the Korgs require some bit of menu diving to program and I think doing it on a computer screen is much simpler due to a far more responsive UI.
