Mackie MS1202 Gain Staging & Stereo Issue
Hello Guys,
I just received my Mackie MS1202 (Original) and I’m loving the sound. Has some nice crispy air and some round/saturated bottom.
I’m havin a bit of an odd issue?
The first one is that I’m sending a 1.227v signal out from my interface into the Mackie. The master channel reads that it’s +2dBu instead of the standard +4dBu (as the manual states too). Confused, I take out my DMM and measure the voltage of the master output. 1.227. Further curious, I bust out my 3630 and plug the master outs into its ins. The 1.227 signal (that still reads as +2) is reading as 0 on the 3630 (manual states that a +4 dBu signal will read as 0).
Furthermore, when I connect the master outs into the inputs of my interface, the left channel seems to be .3–.7 db quiter than the right. (Or it could be the other way around—right being louder)
What could be the possible problem(s)?
Should I bust ‘er open and clean using contact clear/duster?
The seller did sell me this unit with the phantom power not working.
EDIT: Also does run a bit warm after a while (on the side where the power supply is—assume this is normal?)
