Yeah you know what I mean by βbestβ but it was probably a clumsy point I made. They are all 3 great but also unconventional, which is part of the charm for sure.
As I said I do love the boum and for some stuff you wouldnβt first think of it excels.,..
For example, putting it on an aux send, before a reverb or delay...setup a key track to drive the sidechain and you get the filter and distortion colouring the sound going to the effect - a lovely
saturated input signal that is also ducking along to the sidechain signal. Not many pedals can do that :P
Also as a warmer/softener for taming FM synths or pushing sharp percussion back in the mix, again with an external sidechain...
It is great as with all of OTOβs other effects, rewards creative thinking but it not usable on everything is what I was trying to say.
Donβt want to put anyone off like - they are all great
