I have deleted my post about "the new CPs not having the hidden piano" because I have discovered that they DO...it's only that the knob is harder to place between settings. But after some time, and some fiddling, I have been able to get it.

Yamaha have said its not an Easter egg, and that there are Easter eggs on the reface's, but they won't tell them.. Now they take the piano.. I feel like Yamaha must hate money, no os updates either, I thought by now the reface would have at least a better sequencer in them. Its really sad, its hard to like a company like Yamaha, but they do sound good.. Better than any other synth with speakers that are current.

To implement a hidden piano is pretty stupid in the first place. But to take it away is beyond me. WTF is that?!

I removed my rant about Yamaha...the piano is still there, It's just that the knob is harder to set between patches, but I have got it to work.
Sorry for my hyperbole.
Love this keyboard again!

UPDATE!

I wanted to clarify an error I have made here...it's NOT that the new CP is missing the hidden piano, as it turns out, It's only that the new knob is harder to place "between" piano types.

But with a little more patience, I HAVE been able to get the hidden piano sound on my new Reface after all!

Folks....sorry for my error here. It's just my old one it was a lot easier, the new one the knob is less stiff or something.

Eh? That makes no sense. Surely this realistic voice takes more space than any of the others?

Anyway...are they issuing a firmware update that allows the horrific toy piano to be replaced with this OR WHAT?

Amazing. Just logged back in to check if there was any news on this old thread and the sound I found. Good to finally see a response from Yamaha. Funny how the hidden piano sound is about the only one that doesn't completely swamp the speakers and make them distort. Anyway good to know it's not going to damage the reface using the piano sound. Use Rd1 however and your teeny weeny speakers will burn!

I'm wondering where this hidden acoustic piano comes from ? The CP73/88 have 3 stereo concert pianos (CFX, Bosendorfer & S700) and two upright pianos (U1 & SU7). Or from the Motif ? Or...?

the toy piano is great if you select delay and get schwifty with the octave slider.
