Hey guys, I just have a couple quick questions for you all about multiple connections. I need to connect preamp outputs(XLR-M) to interface input(DB25) to interface output(DB25) to monitor controller stereo(XLR-M). So my question is should i make some mogami 2932 to span about 15 feet each way to keep one solid connection to the DB25 pathways or would it be ok to just make the DB25s short runs and have interconnections in between them? Yeah i know itll be more money in connections but itll be less overall because the 2932 is about $3 a foot.
Any advice is very welcome and appreciated.
If you use decent connectors and proper soldering practice, there should be no issue with additional connectors in the path.
Thanks Richard, I want to have solid connections but things change and get moced all the time and instead of having to waste a bunch of 2932 wire, I was thinking I could do short run cables and just have cable made for in between. Dont know if that makes sens or not honestly.
Additional connectors always carry some small risk of becoming noisy or intermittent (or failure).
But if you use quality connectors and solder them properly, there is very little risk.
