I recently came into an Otari UFC-24 with SDIF-2 I/O. I need to come out of my PCM-1630 digitally to avoid its D/A card. Unfortunately, this UFC does NOT have AES cards installed.

Would I be able to convert SDIF-2 to ADAT optical, and then bring that into another converter, like an RME Fireface? Or do I need to find this unicorn of an AES card for the UFC?

Also, the SDIF-2 input is a 50-pin D-sub. It's overkill, obviously, but it's the only SDIF converter I've found anywhere in the last 3 years. Is there a special cable for this (XLR-F to DB-50-M)? Or should I basically build one out of a connector and a bit of cabling?
