I am using acoustics correction software Reference 4 and received an email notification from Sonarworks about a test to check my monitoring (and listening) abilities. By removing parts of the link, I noticed the test is free for everyone:

Match the Mix

Its simple. The listener is given 2,3 and 4 fixed graphic EQ bands and must try to match a reference mix.

I knew that speaker equalization works great here, because judgement has become so much better, my mixing faster and the mixes transfer without problems beautifully since.
But to see the result of monitoring abilities in numbers is amazing!

And it was shocking for me to make these tests with the room-EQ off. In some situations it turned into pure guessing. And the (shockingly bad) results reflected it.
A must try test!
