How to insert a plugin in the 1st slot on multiple tracks?
Hello! Is there anyway to insert a plugin in the 1st slot on multiple tracks(and moving down the plugins that are already there)? I saw another post on here talking about alt-clicking the Channel EQ to insert the Channel EQ in the first slot, then deleting them all and adding the desired plugin in the new empty 1st slot. But that doesn't work if I have previously made edits on tracks with a Channel EQ in the 1st slot

hmmmm ... I can't do it here either ... what I found is you can Add a plugin to multiple tracks in the next slot below the 1st one .. OR .. you can add multiples to the 1st slot but you need to Clear that slot either by deleting plugin that's there or moving the plugins in the 1st slot to the slot below B4 you add multiples to the 1st slot .. something is stopping us from doing what you would like to do ... I will keep trying to see if I can find a way .. tried most key combinations I could so far but no Love !!!
this is a good thing that we should be able to do ... hope that work around above helps !!!
not a logic guru by any means, only been using it for 3 months and 20 years in Nuendo lol
but simply highlight the tracks and choose any plugin, they'll all get the same plugin. I just tested it in logic 11.1.2
Hi, i think you will need to re-read the original post. If you do i believe you come to the same conclusion that I did. that it cannot be done. now, i have to say that i am pretty sure i tried this with 11.1.2 .. i have been out of town so i will verify. cheers john
In pro tools I hold option (alt) key while inserting a plugin and the plugin is inserted in that slot on all tracks. Shift-option creates the insert on selected tracks only.

I think the OP was asking if this can be done if there is already a chain of plugins (with the first slot already taken), that could then shift all the existing plugins down to make room for this new one.

The alt+clicking(double clicking) will work but in the Environment Mixer. It will create an EQ on all selected tracks in the first slot. You can then return to the projectβs mixer and cmd+click the EQ to remove them all. Not ideal but it works.
