i have the X-Touch and it works for me just as you described. you have to configure it in the Controller config in Logic though. i forget the setting. its a checkbox.
i can click a track, and it bank the controller. if i open a summing folder to spill tracks -- it will spill them out in the controller, too.
i can also just interact with the X-Touch and Logic will follow the track selection.
also, it will configure the scribble strip colors to follow the track/channel color. which is nice.
