The Soundcraft BB100 looks like the old Amek broadcast mixer, which had real good sound.

How about the newer Soundcraft? Does it sound the same or do they use different curcuits?

Not familiar with the old Amek but, this desk abandons some of Soundcraft's classic EQ points. I don't like 40Hz & 80Hz on the bottom.
Soundcraft does not get a lot of respect in the States but, in Canada and the UK it rules. Their strong point in console design has always been a musical equalizer which has been traditionally based on the classic Neve points. 31.5Hz, 63Hz, 120Hz, 320Hz, 3K2Hz, 5K and 12K.
Of course sweepable EQ and Q have long ago become standard even on cheap mixers, but there is something to be said about those classic fixed points on the old Neves.

The Soundcraft BB100 is the AMEK BB100 with a Soundcraft badge on it..... it is manufactured at the Soundcraft factory.... Since it is the only "AMEK" product which still exists in production it makes more sense (commercially) to have it badged as Soundcraft.... having multiple brands costs more to administer.

Thanks for your replies. I also like the Soundcraft EQs so the BB100 could be a way to go for me.

I´m thinking on different approaches mixing analog. Either this BB100, maybe the Speck LiLo with external EQs. Even the Toft ATB could be a way but I never tried it.

looks damn interesting. what'd be the price on, say, 16 mono in + 4 (st) group + 1 aux master + 1 master channel + frame + PSU be.... (wild guess... 35K!)
