Tenor and Organ Recording

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Gents,

I recorded this at a room I work in often. Experimenting with some IR's I captured of the room. The room mics are fantastic, but noisy audience members make it difficult to get the impression of the space.

For this bounce, room mics are off, and I am only using the IR I have sampled of the space. I think it sounds legit but would love some other opinions.

A very nice capture and I think the artificial reverb based on the actual IR of the space is very credible - an interesting way to side-step the audience noise. However, I didn't feel the organ sounded quite like it was in the same space as the singer. Maybe I'm wrong, but that was my impression. How did you mic the organ?

Nice to hear this! Certainly sounds very credible. I would be curious to get the raw tracks and try my own remix, if you'd like that. As a gut reaction, I would say it would be nice to have had the vocal mics farther from the singer, and perhaps an extra spot for the organ to get more detail. Some of my vocal feedback could be addressed if your reverb can add specifically early reflections to the sound, I think. But I'm happy to try my own remix!
