Ravenna to Dante via AES76/Aneman?

I have been told that there are improvements in Audinate's ability to connect Merging's hardware to the Dante network over AES67 using Aneman.

I tried it a while back and it was decidedly clunky and not ready for real-world professional consideration.

Do any of you folks have a more recent (let's say two years) experience with this?

I think I would be more like to consider adopting some Merging hardware (Hapi/Horus) if this connection wasn't the train wreck that I found when last I tried it in the Before Times.

Oh, forgot that sample rates might still be capped at 24/48. That would automatically kill the connection for me until it will work at 24/96.

I’ve a Anubis for my desk monitoring and podcasting. I use Grace m108 via Dante for recording. My goal of using the Anubis for monitoring on location is still unrealized at 96kHz but that’s been okay as Dante Virtual Soundcard can’t do 16ch of 96kHz anyway (never mind the AES67 limitation).

I haven’t done a location gig since the recent MAD update. Perhaps it’s easier than it was before. I was successful back in May at a gig with AES67 interoperability between the Anubis and m108 pair.

Mixed responsibilities here. In my experience Aneman has no trouble with Ravenna hardware. Is all hardware completely and solidly compatible with AES67? How do we tell without doing our own individual experiments?

I just heard from the Audinate Tech Support that Dante over AES67 is capped at 24/48. That is a deal-breaker for me. No Merging hardware on my Dante network.

I always wished Merging had RME drivers and TotalMix. I may have just got my wish. I am eager to try the new Digiface Ravenna with my Merging gear and see how well they interface together. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for it to come to market.

Hi,

Have a you got a chance to try the digiface Ravenna? I have merging gear but I’m not happy with how the driver works with low buffers size and I would like to use rme as driver (either adat or digiface Ravenna).
